Supercharge Salesforce.com productivity by creating a kick-ass demo mobile app!

Salesforce.com provides terrific functionality to help users be more productive in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Collaboration.  This standard functionality is supported by Force.com customizations that typically help make the system very effective in meeting an organization's needs. 

There are several mobile apps that support Salesforce.com - including basic Salesforce.com Mobille for working with Salesforce.com objects as well as Dashboards for quick and easy Ipad review of your dashboards.  The Chatter app mirrors Salesforce.com's standard functionality in a Facebook-like approach. They also have "Touch" coming that should enhance the user experience further. 

We'd like to see if there are alternate ideas for to supercharging Salesforce.com productivity with a mobile device and also providing an even more unique and engaging user experience.  So, here's the challenge: write a mobile app or HTML front end that makes a Salesforce.com user - sales, services, marketing or whoever - more productive in doing a task or set of tasks with a mobile device.  Faster, easier, more fun, whatever spin you want to put on it. 

REQUIREMENTS

Write a native or HTML5 mobile app for salesforce.com that streamlines a set of tasks or some process in Salesforce.com. Be creative as we are looking for ideas here! The most kick-ass app wins!

Use jQuery Mobile with Visualforce, Rails with Sencha Touch on Heroku, natvie Android or iOS, etc. We are not too concerned with the technology just that it's hosted on a PaaS platform that we can access (if not native of course).

Your submission will be judged by a panel of peers based upon this criteria. If you would like to request an extension, please read Can challenge deadlines be extended for more time? on our FAQ. We do not want to grant extensions unless there is a valid reason.

This is why I never ask for extensions. It's not fair to the guys who plan their family or personal time to make sure they can meet an original deadline, or give up the chance to work on another challenge to meet a deadline. So I'm in favour of the trend I've been seeing on CloudSpokes recently to longer challenges where there should be no reasonable need for anybody to ask for extensions (pending something like Sandy which BTW did affect Toronto). Makes things more fair. Anyway, off my soapbox.

@enreeco, there's a reason and I was waiting on a blog post yesterday to explain it but it's not complete yet. The short answer is that we wanted more involvement from more developers so we extended the deadline (2 days after we launched it) and almost tripled the money. After couple of weeks long and I got half-completed project. It's hard to manage time during weekdays. It'd be nice if you extend deadline a little longer.

I will submit by original deadline but since this is a free form challenge, I am actually looking forward to seeing what others submit and I sincerely hope there are a number of innovative apps submitted. I have no objection to an extension but I do hope that on time submitters get some extra weightage ;)

Any chance of extend further for a day or two? Facing few issue with REST api to manage SF Cases. For some reasons I need to rewrite few parts to render correctly.
